I thought the possession would have been more. Great win, and in the next round and all that, but Bolton were truly woeful.

51% possession is surprising, I'd have thought we have dominated the game.

Indeed. I've never been one slag off Noble, far from it, but in recent seasons the game seems to pass him by more and more and his mistakes become more apparent. Many managers have had him as first choice, but I think Slav is realising that he just isn't good enough, or doesn't have the legs, for that position in the pace of today's game. He obviously is very well liked all around, and the manager clearly believes he is a great player to link between the rest of the squad and the manager/staff. Quite often you read about how Noble helps manage the players in certain situations to avoid Slav having to continually step in. As you have said, he has been a great servant. I'd like to see him start to take his coaching badges, if he hasn't already started to do so, and move more into the coaching side of things eventually.

100%

Let's all get excited about Captain fantastic making one pass.
Found his true level last night against championship side.

Great servant to the club but his time has come now to step aside and accept he is not a regular starter. Squad player? Yes but used in the last ten fifteen minutes of games.

You have my sincerest apologies for being incorrect, I presume as he was pictured on the OS with the first team on the training ground and going back to Slav's words after the Newcastle's game I presumed he would stand a chance of appearing against Spurs. Happy? Good, now go back a read my post about taking yourself too seriously.

As for Noble, yes I did see it thanks, I'm not sure what I should be taking from one move against an extremely poor Championship side that literally had no midfield to speak of. But, I'm happy to use my memory and my eyes and know that Noble is not the answer to getting the best out of Chicharito. Those eyes of mine, paired with my memory, combined with the stats below that show 1 through ball roughly every 4 games and one assist roughly every ten games tell me all I need to know about whether Noble is going to suddenly be providing Hernandez with the support he needs to score.

But it's OK, you saw one move against Bolton and that's convinced you. Good for you, son.

Actually look back, I told you first, you were just in selective ignore mode. But you had said he trained on Monday, I was wondering who I should believe.

On Noble, did you see the second goal, last night? You ignored that as well. (I know, I know arguments on the internet are much easier that way.) But weird trajectory for a side ways pass, don't you think?

I am off, have a great day, mate.

Indeed, the back three did very well against them in our last meeting.

Slightly more gutted Ginge is out tho if im honest, on his day he can keep Kane quiet

Game is all about opinions

Thought Rice looked decent at the back, linked well with Byram.

Hackasack was very tidy

Truth is we were in 2nd gear all night, Bolton were literally terrible, we should have scored 7 or 8

Bilic on Lanzini on Monday

'He's doing everything but he is not training with us, as in one movement he still feels the injury. We don't want to risk it."

Ah that's a shame, as he was back training with the team yesterday, and what with his record in London derbies, I'd hoped they would be able to give him at least a run out. Sounds like Lewin is being extra cautious.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Bolton - The Official Match Thread FT 3-0 Att: 35,806
Lanzini not back till after the international break. The below from Gary Lewin

“Manuel Lanzini is a bit further away but still on schedule in terms of his rehabilitation from the knee injury that he irritated up at Newcastle last month.

“He is back on the training pitches and working hard, and we are looking at him being available again after the next international break.”

You seem to have a bit of a chip on your shoulder mate, firstly with the 'son' comment and now with the 'sorry if that offends'. Perhaps you shouldn't take yourself, nor posting on this site, so seriously? You'll be happier, I promise.

As for Noble starting moves that end up with chances, I guess if you pass it sideways enough then eventually it WILL go to someone who can pass the ball forward and start an attack.

FYI in nearly 300 Premier League games Noble has 27 assists, and 83 through balls. That's from over 13,500 passes attempted.

I am not near a calendar, was Monday before or after Bilic said he will be definitely available after the next international break and "maybe" for Swansea, yesterday?

Noble can be a defensive liability these days and not an every game player but with some consistency he starts moves that end in chances and goals, at least a lot more consistency than the other players we have available.

The second goal last night for example.

People have seen what they want to see in Noble for years but he can pass the ball, sorry, if that offends.

Sakho, Arnautovic, Byram and Haksabanovic all played well.

Noble......awful. Just seemed to slow everything down.
